If something made our life 0.1% better than yesterday, would we bother to do it ? What if that thing made life 0.1% better every day from now on?
I’m sure you can see where this is going - tiny improvements repeated every day make a big difference when the improvement is compounded. It would take just 464 days for life to be 100% better than today if our daily habits make every day 0.1% better than the day before.
