There are some woods a couple of miles from my house that I love to walk around. It’s a hard, uphill walk to get there, and the first time I walked around I struggled to work out which of the various paths to take. But over time, as I’ve gotten fitter the walk there has gotten a little easier, and now that I’ve learned to read the trail markers, I can spend most of my walks there simply admiring the sheer beauty of nature…
New things - habits, skills, relationships, jobs - are always hardest at the beginning, but with patience and perseverance, they soon become so ‘normal’ that all that’s left to do is to sit back and appreciate the benefits they bring….
