Being a 'critical friend'...
I am a school governor, and our role is to be a ’critical friend’ - someone who is encouraging and supportive, yet provides honest, candid and sometimes uncomfortable feedback - and I really think that is a role that we can learn to be to ourselves.
So whether it is in our lives (you are dealing with day-to-day stresses better, and are developing these good positive habits, but you don’t get enough sleep and your nutrition is poor), or our business (you worked hard and sold more than last year, but growth could be better here, and you made a couple of poor decisions there), being a ‘critical friend’ to ourselves is one of the best friendships we can have….
