Can't, or don't want to...?

This is the first bracelet my wife ever made. Lovely, isn’t it ?

She has no background in jewellery, but decided that she would like to learn how to make her own bracelets, and so spent a couple of hours watching YouTube videos, identifying basic supplies, choosing stones with meaning, and placing orders on sites like Amazon.

Then, last night, in the 22 minutes it took the kids and me to watch an episode of Brooklyn 99, my wife made this bracelet.

It’s OK to decide that we don’t want to learn that new skill, but it would be wrong to tell ourselves that we can’t, when everything we would ever need is just a few clicks away….
