Cost vs Benefit of Good Habits...
I started daily meditation about 3 years ago, and it made almost no difference to my life.
About 2 years ago I noticed that I wasn’t getting quite as stressed when things went wrong.
About a year ago I noticed I wasn’t lying awake worrying in the middle of the night as much as I used to.
Yesterday, when my car started playing up 36 hours before a big trip, I just made a plan of how to get it fixed.
Maybe, just maybe, 5 years from now, my default facial expression might be a smile…
The cost of a good habit is in the present.
The benefit of that good habit usually takes a little longer.
