Course Corrections...
This morning I was getting more than a little frustrated; already two hours into my day and I feel like I have achieved very little - a few small things done, but no progress towards my bigger goals, and a To Do list as long as my arm…
And then I remembered the analogy of planes flying across the Atlantic - that they spend most of their time off-course, and it’s the thousands of tiny little course corrections the pilot makes that keep it heading in the right direction, and ultimately brings it in to land exactly where it should.
The trick, then, is to accept that you will often be off-course, and when you notice that you are, gently make a course correction back to your plan - sure you might need to correct course again in a few minutes, but at least you’re heading in the right direction, with your destination still in sight…
