How Far Have You Come...?

Have you ever gone back and walked around the town you grew up in ?

I’ve had the opportunity to do that a few times recently, and it has been fascinating - buildings have changed beyond all recognition, schools, shops and the houses of old friends bought a smile to my face, and, 35 years on, everything felt exactly the same yet completely different.

But the biggest thing I realised was how much I had changed - how so many of my old dreams and fears had faded, and how, back then, I couldn’t have even imagined the life I lead now.

When you go back to the start, you suddenly see how far you have come - and all at once you understand just how far you could still go…
