It starts with a plan...

Today is my birthday.

We may not light the candles on the cake any more because of the risk to life of such a concentrated source of heat, but I do still love my birthday for the opportunity it brings to hit the pause button, take a day off, and just do the things that I want to do.

And the funny thing is, the things I want to do are pretty much the same things I do every other day, but just with more coffee and cake.

We are fortunate to live in the greatest time in human history to design and build a way of life that we would be happy to repeat every single day - even without the cake - and in my experience, it all starts the day you sit down and make a plan…
