Just Another Cog...?

The bigger the company, the more important it becomes to make sure that no-one is indispensable and that every cog in the wheel can be replaced - after all, you can’t have a multi-billion dollar company being totally reliant on one middle-manager sitting in a regional office somewhere. But that makes it incredibly difficult to do truly unique work, because the whole system is trying really hard to make sure that you don’t.

The good news is that our work is only one part of our life, and no-one can stop us from being uniquely brilliant in our own time….
