About 9 years ago I completed an Ironman triathlon, but the flywheel started moving 7 years before that. I started doing bits of jogging, swimming and cycling to lose weight and get a bit fitter, but eventually the flywheel took over and habits were built, the training got easier(ish), and training just became part of my daily routine.
These days I focus on daily walks, but I know that returning to triathlon, building a business, or any other long-term goal, is just another flywheel - hard work to get started, but getting easier and easier every day after that…
