Just One Thing...?
If we wrote twenty things on our To Do List and did twelve, would we feel more productive than if we had written just one thing and done it ?
“It depends”, we would say, “on whether that one thing was more important than the other twelve”.
And that’s true - if that one thing moved us a good step closer to achieving our biggest goal, and the twelve things meant that we’d tidied our desk and replied to a few e-mails, doing that one thing would be a much better use of the day.
So why, when we write out our To Do Lists each morning, do we baulk at the idea of writing just one thing down…?
