The more we do of something - the more we practice, the deeper we learn - the better we get. That’s the route to mastery, right ?
I walk every day, and over the past 5 years I have probably walked over 5,000 miles, but I’m not sure I’d call myself a master walker - sure, my fitness levels have improved, and I can walk longer distances that I used to, but it’s still just walking.
I don’t walk to get better at it - I walk because it gives me the time and space to think, with the added benefit of fitness.
Not everything has to lead to mastery - sometimes it’s OK to do something because, well, we just like doing it….
