For a really long time I believed that I was my thoughts and my thoughts were me. Then I tried meditating, and some time later I learned that my thoughts are just thoughts, and my thoughts are not me.

And when you learn that important difference, the tiniest of tiny gaps appears, and with time, patience and the right tools (meditation, journaling and mindfulness), you can start to prise that gap wide open. And when you do, you realise that it’s in that gap that everything you’ve ever wanted lives…
