Last week I applied for a grant. My proposal was didn’t make it though the first phase. The word ‘weak’ was used…

I could stop here. I could tell myself that they just don’t get what I’m trying to do. I could decide that my idea wasn’t that great after all.

Or I could try again. I could take the responsibility to do a better job of explaining what I am trying to achieve. I could do more work on my idea, finding the weak spots and making them stronger.

Sometimes obstacles aren’t there to stop us - sometimes they’re put in our way to see how much we want to get to the other side…
