Painful Change...

Yesterday I wrote about how change doesn’t have to be hard, and how it doesn’t have to hurt - how some change can happen gently over time. And that’s true - implementing a few good daily habits, like meditation, learning or journaling might take a bit of willpower in the early days, but they’re unlikely to cause us too much pain.

But some change IS hard - some change takes almost everything we’ve got, and frustrates the hell out of us, especially the big stuff at the very edge of our comfort zone. And some change can be painful, as we break away from long-term habits and relationships, and have to deal with missing the old while we struggle to establish the new.

But either way, change is necessary, because the world is constantly changing, and trying to push back against that can lead to the greatest pain of all…
