To get really good at playing the violin takes about 10,000 hours of practice (apparently).

That’s 4 hours a day, for almost 7 years.

Or 2 hours a day for 13 and a half years.

Or an hour a day for just over 27 years.

So, it’s not a question of IF could I play a beautiful violin concerto on my 82nd birthday, it’s actually a question of how much I want to….


(And yes, the point I’m making has nothing to do with violins).
