Since finishing my 100 Day challenge to drink less and eat healthier, I have had a few more ‘unhealthy’ days than I’d like, and it was beginning to bother me until I read this :
“Don’t judge yourself by the moments when you’re not as strong as you want to be, or even as strong as you were yesterday. Allow yourself times when you’re going to have mini-breakdowns, where you’re going to fail a little.”
by Dr Todd Kashdan and I suddenly felt a lot better, not because it excuses my failures, but because it puts them into context - a handful of bad days out of 100+ good ones.
It is, I think, a valuable lesson for us all, whether we are working towards a goal, trying to build a new habit, or just trying to get through this moment in history….
