Last week I was reading a book about planning - I’m not sure I learnt anything new, but there were a few interesting ideas.
The week before I was reading about ‘Lifescaling’, a process for identifying what’s important to us, and then using that insight to set goals for the future.
This morning I was knee-deep in Amygdalas, Neocortexes and Limbic systems, as I started reading ‘Emotional Intelligence’ by Daniel Goleman, and he began with the history of how our brains evolved.
With every book we read our knowledge is increased - sometimes by a little, and sometimes by ideas so big that we can’t unlearn them - and reading is a gateway to growth and greater understanding that’s available to every single one of us.
But no-one can read a book for us - that’s the bit that we have to do for ourselves…
