Rules...
I’m a big believer in using personal rules and core principles as a way to remove the need for lots of the tiny, ‘should I, shouldn’t I’ decisions we ponder over every day. Not only do they save the finite amount of willpower we have each day to use on important stuff, but they allow for lots more ‘don’t think, just do’ - reducing procrastination, and getting the uncomfortable things done before our brain has chance to wake up and say ‘heyyy, I was afraid of that…’.
I know it’s not as simple as just putting some rules on our office wall and suddenly becoming a master of effectiveness, but I do know that we have to change the way we do things if we want to change the way we do things…
