It seems we have learned how to accelerate time - sometimes by wishing it away (I can’t wait for the weekend/evening/holiday/this is over/etc), and also by filling even the tiniest moments of pause with a scroll, an app, or a content binge.
But the problem with learning how to make time fly is that when the important things happen, they are gone all too quickly - that thing we were wishing for last week/month/year is already a blur in our rear-view mirror.
A better skill to learn, then, might be how to slow down time - by making sure we give the present our full attention, and by doing all we can to extend, rather than fill, those tiny moments of pause…
