There are some ideas that are like the genie in the lamp - once they are out, they are not going away.
For me, it’s things like the mental benefits of meditation and sleep, the compound effect of positive habits like learning, nutrition and exercise, and the realisation that whenever I am conflicted or frustrated, I can usually trace things back to an imbalance between my actions and my core principles.
Has all of this knowledge made me some paragon of virtue ?
Of course not - I’m still human - but I know I make less poor choices than I ever did before.
That’s the thing about knowledge - it turns automatic choices into informed decisions….
