Yesterday I wrote about self-awareness - the point at which you realise that it is within your power to shape your life the way you want it to be.
Everyone’s journey to self-awareness is different - it could be due to a specific event, good or bad, or it could be a gradual change that one day tips the scales. Here’s how I think my journey unfolded :
1. I was really unhappy (but didn’t quite understand why).
2. I opened my mind to the idea that there might be a better way.
3. I started reading and learning.
4. I started meditating.
5. I started journaling
6. Time passed…
7. At some point I started taking full responsibility for my life, my thoughts and my actions.
Personally I think the journey to self-awareness is worth taking, but the route you take, or even whether you take the journey at all, is entirely up to you…
