Timing The Perfect Jump...
I played a LOT of video games in my teenage years, and since this was the 80’s, gameplay was pretty simple. One of my favourite games involved jumping over gaps using swinging ropes, and for added excitement, the developer made the platform you were jumping from slowly disappear. Mistime the jump and you’d fall to a fiery death. Wait too long, and you’d fall to a fiery death. Basically, there were a lot of fiery deaths.
There are times when I could do with that developer’s help today - not because I’m a fan of fiery deaths, but because sometimes we all need a little push to move forward. Otherwise we’ll wait forever to time that ‘perfect’ jump, won’t we…?
