Two Types of Routine...
There are two types of routine - Intentional and Automatic.
Intentional routines are the habits we have chosen to build because they move us forward, sometimes slowly, but forward nevertheless.
Automatic routines are the things we do because we don’t know what else to do - at best they keep us where we are, but in reality we’re probably going backwards, doing the same old thing in an ever-changing world.
The good news is that automatic routines stop being automatic the moment we realise that they are there, and because we now have to decide if we want to keep them, we can also decide that we don’t….
