Unintended Consequences...
When working towards our goals, there are many levers we can pull - time, quality and cost are often quoted - and adjusting any of them, forward or back, influences the end result.
But beware the unintended consequences. Prohibition in the 1920’s led to a massive rise in organised crime. Algorithms making sure we just see the things we might like have led to polarisation like never before. And working harder and longer might get the job done, but at what cost to our health and/or relationships ?
We can’t move forward without pulling levers, but we do need to be brave enough to ease them back if the results we’re getting aren’t the ones we expected when we first began…
