What Really Matters...
I have been working on my long-term goals, because I realised that they weren’t pulling me forward in the way they had - the reasons are complex, but at the heart was the fact that I had pretty much done what I had set out to do (build a business) and I was trying to motivate myself with bigger numbers, rather than newer goals linked to my deepest drivers.
The good news (for me) is that I’ve found a way to get myself back on track by identifying something I really want, but linking its attainment to a bigger purpose that I think I can achieve. Time will tell whether I’ve got it right, but since I’m feeling happier and more motivated than I have done in a while, I guess I’m on the right track.
All too often we set goals based on what we think we want, but when we set them based on what really matters to us, the difference is like night and day…
