What We Have Now...
Ask my 20-something self what success and happiness looked like, and the life I live now would have been at the top end of my expectations, but ask my current self what success and happiness look like, and might tell you they look bigger and better than the here and now (but I’d probably be wrong).
Part of that difference is because I know more now than I knew back then - the world has changed, opportunities have appeared that didn’t even exist back then, and as I have grown, so have my expectations - BUT, the risk of always looking and striving for more is that we risk missing out on what we have now.
It’s good to have goals and dreams, because without them we would stagnate, but they will never be able to deliver what we really need unless they are built on an appreciation of what we already have now…
