What We Want To Do...

People romanticise their plans but dread the execution. The magic you’re looking for is in the work you’re avoiding.

When I first read this quote I saw it as a call to action - stop dreaming and start doing because joy/success/fulfilment will only come when you start doing the work.

But then I thought about it for a while and took a different message from the words - maybe, the reason we’re avoiding the work is because it would lead to what we think we want, and not what we actually want .

After all, we rarely struggle to do the things that we want to do…
