A Critical Friend...

Back when I was training to be a school governor (a role, it turns out, I was NOT suited for….) they explained that our role was to be a ‘Critical Friend’ to the school - not afraid to have the difficult conversations and challenge long-term assumptions, but also loyal and supportive in the unique difficulties schools face.

Critical Friend. It’s a role we’d do well to adopt towards ourselves - supportive and encouraging when things aren’t going well, but free to call out the BS we tell ourselves all too often….
