This morning I heard the following definitions :
Compassion : not wishing others to suffer or experience unhappiness; hoping that they avoid negative situations and experiences
Kindness : genuinely wishing others well; hoping that they experience happiness and positive situations and experiences.
As a minimum I think we’d all like to practice compassion, and we’d love to always practice kindness too.
And when we’ve mastered practicing both on others, then maybe we can set our sights on practicing kindness and compassion on ourselves too…
