Learning As An Adult...
You and I could read the same book, yet come away with very different impressions of the importance of what we have just read, and those different impressions will undoubtedly lead us in different directions for our next read. From there, our choices will diverge still further, each encountering ideas that we cannot unlearn, and exploring authors and subjects that are unknown to the other.
And that’s the joy of learning as an adult - we read not because it might be on the test, but because we want to build on the foundations created by our own life experiences and interests.
Of course, for all of that to happen, we have to start by picking up a book…
