I’m going to return to the current bane of my life - the replacement workbenches I wrote about on Tuesday…

Progress has been slow. Ways to do things that I thought would be perfect have turned out to be not. Ideas that I’ve obsessed over for weeks have proved unworkable. And the reason ? Fundamentally there is a gap between my desire and my ability - I’m not a master carpenter, I’m a slightly above-average DIY’er with a random collection of tools, and I’m missing the years of experience that make a master a master.

There's perfection, and there’s achievable - wanting the former is admirable, but sometimes doing our very best on the latter is the only thing we can do…
