Back when I used to compete in Triathlons, my biggest improvements in training times always came in the week AFTER a race.

The psychology was simple - I thought I was training at my highest level before the race, but when the adrenaline of competition helped me to run, cycle or swim faster than I did in training, I realised I was capable of more, which carried over into my post-race efforts.

It’s the same with our work or running a business - we may think we lack the skills or experience for that big sale, project, presentation or goal, but when we ignore the voice and get it done, we raise the level of what we KNOW we can do in every opportunity still to come…
