It seems we have learned how to accelerate time - sometimes by wishing it away (we can’t wait for the weekend, or for this to be over), or by filling even the tiniest moments of pause with a scroll, an app, or a content binge.

But the problem with learning how to make time fly is that when the really important things happen, they are gone all too quickly, and that thing we were wishing for last week/month/year is already a blur in our rear-view mirror.

A better skill to learn, then, might be how to slow time down, by making sure we give the present our full attention, thus extending, rather than filling, those tiny moments of pause…
