Michael Gerber wrote “The work we do is a reflection of who we are…a mirror of how we are inside” and I think that’s true - the work I did in my corporate days and the work I do today are very different reflections of two very different versions of me.
But the interesting question is which has the greatest influence over the other - the work or the person inside ? Did work I disliked lead to a person I disliked, or does growth as a person lead to work that makes me grow ?
It’s easy to blame the work, but experience is teaching me that it’s better to take responsibility for the person…
