Some Things Take Time...
There are two trees in our back garden and, to demonstrate my knowledge as a Dendrologist, I can tell you that one has a white trunk, and the other has a tree-coloured trunk.
Anyway, this being Autumn, their leaves are falling - one is already bare and the other will be soon.
For years I raked the fallen leaves. It was very hard work.
3 years ago I bought a leaf vacuum. It took a very long time.
2 years ago I left them, hoping they would be absorbed into the ground. They weren’t, and it ruined a patch of my lawn.
Last year I noticed that on dry windy days, they all blow into one big pile somewhere in the garden.
This year I’m waiting for a dry windy day just after the second tree has finished shedding.
It has taken me 20 years to learn how to deal with leaves in the garden, so I’m not going to get too upset that I still haven’t figured out some of life’s bigger challenges…
