Yesterday I talked about my word of the year - RESPONSIBILITY - and how I intend to use it. One of the ways is to give and take the right level of responsibility with other people and external situations, rather than taking on too much, which is what I do now.
The first step is to get myself out of the danger zone - where I have convinced myself that I should take responsibility for everything and everyone in my life - by working out exactly what is and isn’t my responsibility to take.
The second step is to hand back the responsibilities that aren’t mine, and to stop taking on new ones.
The final step is to own my personal responsibilities, and use them to move me forward.
You see, it’s one thing to have a word of the year, it’s quite another to take responsibility for using it….
