Back in my corporate days, it was easy to blame everyone else for my unhappiness - the company, my bosses, the clients - but in reality, I could have taken much more responsibility for improving the situation. The sort of personal development routine I have now - meditation, learning, self-reflection and planning - applied back then, would have made a massive difference both to the situation, and to the way I dealt with it.
I can’t (and don’t want to) change the past, but I can make sure that by developing myself now, I will never fall into that trap again….
