Traditional watches rely on a tensioned spring supplying the energy to make the hands go round, and their timekeeping depends on how and when we wind them - not so little that they stop, not so much that they break.
Our lives are full of tension too, the pull between what we want, need or plan to do and what we have the time, energy or motivation to do - too little tension and we stay in our comfort zone surrounded by unfulfilled dreams, too much tension and we become stressed, not quite sure if we’re ready to spring into action or snap.
Just like an old watch, our happiness depends on learning when to wind, and when to just let things run…
