Thanks Dad
Yesterday was my father’s funeral - one of the saddest, yet also one of the proudest days of my life.
My father’s childhood was harder than I can ever imagine, yet, through hard work and determination he made damn sure that we would never have to deal with the hardships he did.
He taught me that if a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing well, and he showed me that a smile and a kind word can brighten someone’s day
He was the very definition of a Good Man - strong, kind and wise - and two pieces of advice he gave me have shaped my life; the first - it’s amazing how far you can get if you carry a piece of paper and look busy - was the foundation of my successful corporate career :-) and the second - ‘I am who I am’ - has given me the strength to leave that world behind and make my own path.
Thanks for everything Dad - I’ll miss you.
