The cost of experience...
I worked in my last company for over 15 years, so I remembered why we did things the way we did, all the new initiatives that had come and gone (and why this new one wouldn’t work), and I could remind you of everything we would need to consider. I also accumulated a huge weight of legacy tasks - things I did because I had always done them, or I was the only one who still knew how.
As I approach the 4th year of William Hannah Ltd, I have resolved to stop history repeating itself and frequently review EVERYTHING I do to make sure that I’m only doing the things I want and need to do.
Experience is a valuable commodity, but only if you remember to consider how much it can sometimes cost…
