Controlling Our Thoughts...
I’ve realised that what I listen to on my daily walk heavily influences what I think about. Music takes me back to the past, and I invariably reflect on events, good and bad, that have happened during my life. Podcasts and Audiobooks send me in the opposite direction, with dreams and ideas of the future filling my mind. And listening to nothing ? That helps me focus on the here and now, on my current challenges and opportunities.
Controlling my thoughts, if only for that hour or so, is a powerful ability, but of course, with great power comes great responsibility - just because I can guide my thoughts away from something, it doesn’t mean I should…
