An old client used to say to me “When you start you own business, every day feels like a Saturday. And then pretty soon, every day feels like Monday”, and Parkinson’s Law states that work will expand to fill the time available to it - and I think that’s true of many things outside of work too.

The temptation is to work longer and harder, and search for as many ‘efficiencies’ as possible, in order to fit in more and more work.

Which works right up until the point that it doesn’t.

The alternative is to focus on what you’re good at and what you enjoy doing - to Do Less, Better, and trust that much of what we do doesn’t really need to be done at all…..
