Stress...

Stress...

Something I listened to this morning suggested that stress comes from the gap between how things are and how we want them to be - the bigger the gap, the bigger the stress.

What I’ve noticed with my own stress levels is that it’s rarely one big gap that causes me the most stress, but lots of little gaps, each adding their own amount of stress to the pot until it gets full and overflows.

So for me then, I can reduce stress by either reducing the size of the gaps (accepting how things are, or not investing so much in a different future), or I can reduce the number of things that add stress to the pot.

I’m going to reflect on that idea for a while, because while I don’t have an answer right now, but I do believe that there’s an answer to be found…
